The various buildings and casinos are massive, each with a unique style and design. The crown jewel of the entire map, it’s little surprise that locations such as Freeside and the Strip will likely take a long time for the team to recreate. While much of the Mojave was showcased, one very iconic location was missing, however: the city of Las Vegas itself. Important locations appear fully recreated, such as Good Springs and Primm, with much of the desert environment looking just as desolate but beautiful as before. Various creatures of the Mojave are also returning, such as Geckos, Night Stalkers and the terrifying Cazadores. Although it’s uncertain if they will eventually include New Vegas’s DLC’s, some weapons introduced in these expansions were also showcased, including the Bozar rifle from Gun Runners Arsenal and the LAER from Old World Blues. Various armor and clothing sets have also been added, such as the iconic Caesar’s Legion and NCR armor. Weapons used in the original New Vegas, such as the caravan shotgun, the cowboy repeater and classic 10mm pistol, are fully designed with reloading and firing animations. The team showed off what they’ve accomplished so far in a gameplay trailer, and it looks damn impressive. They also have several YouTubers and other content creators covering and supporting the project, acting as affiliates. Many of them are hoping to use this mod to show off their talents to companies, hoping for a career in the gaming industry. Some planned additions will include the various gambling mini-games in the casinos and the card game caravan. The sound/audio design is also being recreated, with voice lines from the original game being put into NPC’s. Much of the buildings, weapons and enemies have been painstakingly made to look like the original. The original game's skill system is also being brought back, along with some animated 2D artwork of the Vault Boy for each skill. Using the Creation Engine used to make Skyrim and Fallout 4, this team hopes to create a faithful copy of the Mojave Wasteland map, with all the iconic locations, characters and quests from the original. While this dream is still not likely to happen, a team of modders and dedicated fans decided to make it a goal to give fans a look at what a remastered New Vegas might look like.Ī group within the modding community started the project in 2017, and they've made plenty of progress.
